I made it! I survived my camping trip.
We camped for 4 days in the White Mountains (Maine).
No tent, just a couple of tarps strung up for a roof, one wall, and a floor. I was skeptical, but it went well.
The first two days were rainy miserable and there wasn't much of anything to do.
But the 3rd day was gorgeous, blue skies and not one cloud.
We took a 3+ hour hike out into the mountains.
Apparently we were chasing a moose down the trail on our way into the mountains,
because we saw tracks and they continued to get fresher as we went. On our way back to camp there were new tracks going the opposite direction they were before, sometimes ontop of our tracks.
There were also coyote tracks trailing older moose tracks, but we never saw any recent tracks of theirs.

The water up there is so clear, and clean.
It's the best water I've ever had. That might just be because it was inordinately warm that day, and I had been in the sun for hours. But it was very awesome. I had to dunk my head into the falls.

I spent a lot of time solitary in the woods over the weekend,
and I had to keep trying to remind myself to make noises as I explored, so as not to sneak up on anything.
You definately don't want to surprise a wild animal.
There was about an hour, maybe two, where I got a stick and was just playing in the stream near the campsite. Most of the time just saying "Stick stick stick" as I poked things and moved leaves around. Yes, I was reverting to childhood, it's good for me!
I couldn't tell you exactly where we were, and I doubt I could find it on my own, but that was the coolest place I've ever gone camping.
No place on the map, I don't even know if you are supposed to camp there. But it's magical.
Expect a deluge of photos people, I won't even apologize because the valley was so perfect, you deserve to get a glimpse of it!


....Now, off to New York for a few days tomorrow. Damn, do I ever stop?! I'll never get a chance to go out to get giftshots!

BTW- Sleeping under the stars is where it's at. Tents suck. lol I need to get a dog or something though because I got kinda lonely out on my own and wished I had a dog, I dunno. lol Plus, the woods can be really freaky at night!

Hello Friends!!!
Nothing new at all to report, or really mention, so I guess I will just say a little bit about myself...

I have wanted to be involved in photography and take pictures as far back as I can remember. Long before the age of being allowed to handle an actual camera.

I consider myself to be an eccentric, but more normal than most people you could meet.

I have an extremely hard time going to work each day because the world is so pretty I would rather be out living, or taking pictures, than earning a paycheck...

I can't think of anything interesting about myself. Tada.


By all means, browse my whole gallery, not in a selfish way,
I just feel the need to share that which I think is beautiful!
